Wholesale Water Districts Facing Huge Rate Increases-
What that means to you.
With the Portland Water Bureau's (PWB's) dramatic rate increases, wholesale customers are actively seeking other sources of water rather than being hostage to the PWB's rapidly accelerating rate increases.
Many of the wholesale clients have left or are considering the development of other water sources, such as ground wells, to serve their communities and consider leaving at the end of their contracts with the PWB. As the wholesale clients seek to escape the skyrocketing costs associated with the PWB, the cost of the filtration plant will need to be shouldered by those who couldn't find alternative water sources. The remaining wholesale, residential, and business customers will be left to pick up the increased cost burden.
